We operate a 24hrs fuel drain service and our local technicians operate 7 Days a week. We offer a rapid response service (most callouts are within 45 mins). Need a fuel evacuation and drain service throughout the North East and Cumbria, with vehicles on standby strategically across the North East and Cumbria, meaning we can send out a Local Fully Certified IMI/City and Guilds Vehicle Technician to assist you wherever you happen to be in the North East or Cumbria in the quickest time possible. Our Local Fully Certified Fuel Drain Technicians are certified to the highest of standards carrying SPA Misfuel Safety Passports, ADR Awareness Certificates, Certified Vehicle Technicians IMI or City and Guilds Vehicle Technicians wearing Anti Static and Flame Resistant PPE including Anti Static Workwear boots/workwear trainers. The Fuel Technicians are accompanied by state of the art, certified fuel drain equipment of the highest standard supplied and fitted by FST Engineering, which is fully signed off and certified to work in hazardous locations when removing the wrong fuel from a vehicle.
We are also “RFRS Approved“. The RFRS is a minimum standard set within the industry to adhere to. Unfortunately, there are many non-certified Fuel Drain Operators operating across the UK that do not carry the correct paperwork, insurance, certification, accreditation or safe working equipment which could be a danger to yourself and others around you. The RFRS was created in 2016 by a group of Misfuel Businesses such as The AA Fuel Assist, The RAC Fuel Patrol, Forecourt Assist North East, Auto Fuel Fix, SpeedStart, Fuel Drain and many more who were keen to improve safety standards within their industry. They sought advice and guidance from Local Authorities, HSE, Environment Agency, tank manufacturers & other similar businesses.
A Not-for-profit organisation was set up, led by two Independent Directors Ray Blake and Rachel Hallam to ensure that the representatives of the working party were fairly led. Experts from several fields supported the working party & a standard has now been developed with training available via the SPA Passport Scheme.
Following the launch of the Roadside Fuel Recovery Standard at the Tow Show in 2017, work began on implementing an online membership.
RFRS have been actively promoting the benefits of the membership scheme to those that operate petrol filling stations and to those who enforce the legislation. We want to ensure that everyone understands the implications and safety requirements necessary to remediate a mis-fuel on a petrol forecourt.
The RFRS recently added a “Vehicle Registration Checker” on their website so that Forecourts, Customers and Contractors could be assured that when a vehicle pulls up to remove the wrong fuel from a customers vehicle then you are receiving the service from a fully accredited fuel drain operator. The misfuel technician attending will call to let you know how long a wait you can expect depending upon the current traffic and road conditions. If you’re on a fuel station forecourt, when we attend we will have to carry out our risk assessments and relevant paperwork which will allow us to safely remove fuel from your vehicle in a hazardous location.
If you’re by the roadside a similar process is taken to ensure the safety of our technicians. We will then remove the fuel from your vehicle, flush your vehicle’s fuel supply and provide an adequate amount of fuel for you to get back to the fuel station. We will not leave till your vehicle is operating how it should be. You are then ready to continue on with your journey within the hour. The number of motorists who fill up with the wrong fuel in their vehicles is growing year on year, it’s very common and happens several times a minute all over the UK. Our mobile, rapid response fuel drain vehicles are all fully equipped with the best equipment available to carry out drains of both petrol and diesel.
